What Anyscale does
Anyscale builds distributed AI computing and model-serving infrastructure centered on Ray. The company’s commercial offering is a fully managed Ray platform intended to reduce the engineering/DevOps work required to run Ray workloads reliably in production, including long-running batch workflows and lower-latency services.
More
Anyscale positions its platform as “laptop-like” development for Ray workloads that can scale out without rewriting applications, paired with production features such as job/service management, monitoring/observability, and cost tracking. In more recent releases, Anyscale has also expanded toward enterprise deployment models—most notably by partnering with Microsoft to deliver Anyscale as an Azure service (private preview followed by public preview), and by adding first-class support for Azure Kubernetes Service deployments and multi-cloud operational patterns. Strategically, Anyscale’s differentiation is the combination of (1) the Ray ecosystem (a unified, Python-native distributed computing and ML framework) with (2) a managed control plane and tooling for building, tuning, training, serving, and operating distributed AI workloads. This aligns the company with organizations that want to standardize on Ray for heterogeneous compute and AI-native scheduling/orchestration while still meeting enterprise requirements for security boundaries, governance, and operational reliability. As of 2026-09-08, Anyscale has announced a definitive acquisition agreement with Nscale, with closing expected in the second half of 2026; until closing, Anyscale remains a separately operated private company.
