What E2B does
E2B (legal name FoundryLabs, Inc.) is an “enterprise AI agent cloud” that provides secure, isolated compute sandboxes for running AI-generated code and agent workflows. Instead of having agents run directly in a customer’s environment (or in ad-hoc, developer-managed infrastructure), E2B supplies an execution layer that agent builders can integrate via SDKs/APIs, so an agent can execute shell commands, edit files, run programs, and maintain per-session boundaries and controlled persistence.
More
E2B positions its approach as infrastructure purpose-built for agentic workflows—where reliability, security boundaries, and scalable concurrency matter as much as raw compute. Product-wise, E2B presents itself as a platform for “AI sandboxes” that support multiple agent patterns (e.g., computer-use/interactive work, code execution, and multi-step automation) and multiple integration paths (SDKs and template-based sandbox “build” workflows). In addition to its core runtime, E2B also highlights enterprise-oriented capabilities such as isolation for sensitive workflows and operational/security features described as part of its enterprise sandbox architecture. E2B’s current strategic direction appears to be: (1) make sandbox provisioning easier to integrate into mainstream agent stacks, and (2) become a standard provider across major agent ecosystems and developer toolchains (including OpenAI’s Agents SDK and Stripe Projects, where E2B describes itself as a partner for agentic provisioning).
