Hailo (hailo.ai) is an edge-AI semiconductor company focused on building AI processors that run deep learning inference on-device at low power, small size, and low cost. The company’s product line spans AI accelerator devices for general edge compute and AI vision processors designed for “smart camera” and other computer-vision deployments, plus a software toolchain intended to translate and deploy neural networks onto Hailo hardware.

Hailo positions its technology as a rethinking of traditional compute architecture to better fit the dataflow needs of neural networks, targeting real-time workloads where latency, privacy, and system power budgets matter. In practical terms, Hailo’s chips are designed to be embedded into customer edge products such as smart cameras and camera-based systems, robotics/drones systems, automotive and ADAS platforms, and other industrial and retail devices where continuous vision or other sensor-driven AI must run locally rather than in the cloud. Hailo also introduced a generative-AI-focused accelerator (Hailo-10) and later a generative-AI-capable second-generation variant (Hailo-10H), extending the company’s edge story from classic vision inference into local GenAI use cases on constrained power envelopes. Strategically, Hailo’s most consequential recent development is a signed acquisition agreement by Microchip Technology (announced July 24, 2026), which is expected to close toward the end of the quarter ending September 30, subject to regulatory approvals.
