What Langfuse does
Langfuse is an open-source AI engineering platform focused on tracing, evaluating, and monitoring LLM applications and AI agents across the prototype-to-production lifecycle. The platform provides production observability (trace data with latency and cost attributes), prompt management, evaluations (including LLM-as-a-judge workflows plus datasets and scoring), and analytics dashboards/metrics for quality and operational monitoring.

Langfuse is distributed as open-source software (with MIT-licensed components) and is offered both as self-hosted deployments and as Langfuse Cloud, with additional enterprise security capabilities sold commercially. In January 2026, Langfuse announced it joined ClickHouse, positioning the combined work around improving performance/reliability for Langfuse’s data-intensive workloads while keeping Langfuse open-source and self-hostable.
