What Anysphere (Cursor) does
Anysphere, Inc. (doing business as Cursor) builds Cursor, an “AI-native” software development environment aimed at improving developer throughput by integrating AI assistance directly into the IDE workflow and into higher-level “agent” interactions with a codebase. The core product experience is a customized code editor (a fork of Visual Studio Code) that supports natural-language and code-aware interactions, next-edit prediction (“Tab”/tab-style completions), chat “with your codebase,” and workflows that extend beyond interactive editing toward agentic execution and collaboration across typical software engineering lifecycle steps such as reviewing and merging changes.
