Databricks is an enterprise data and AI platform that unifies data, analytics, and AI workloads on a governed “lakehouse” foundation. On the Databricks Data + AI Platform, teams build and run data pipelines and analytics, then extend into machine learning and generative AI applications—using platform components for ingestion and transformation, managed compute, data governance and security, and AI-assisted or agentic experiences.
Databricks positions its platform as cloud-native and multicloud-capable, integrating with cloud storage/security in the customer’s cloud account and managing deployment and infrastructure for users. Target users include data engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, business analytics users, and IT/governance stakeholders who need fine-grained access control and auditing for enterprise data used in analytics and AI.
