What Figure AI does
Figure AI is an AI robotics company building a general-purpose humanoid robot—positioned for both workforce use cases (e.g., manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, retail) and home tasks—enabled by its embodied AI stack. On the hardware side, Figure develops an electromechanical humanoid (Figure 03) designed for everyday autonomy and deployment at scale.

On the AI side, Figure’s Helix model is described as a “vision-language-action” (VLA) system that controls the perception-to-action loop for navigation and manipulation, learning and improving as it acquires new skills. Figure also operates a data-collection “human-in-the-loop” program branded as Index, which uses a network of creators recording real-world tasks to build the physical dataset Helix needs to generalize to diverse environments. In parallel, Figure is scaling manufacturing via its BotQ facility, which Figure describes as a high-volume production environment and includes in-house manufacturing software systems to support throughput.
