What Generalist AI does
Generalist AI is a Bay Area and Boston-based robotics and foundation-model company building “embodied foundation models” designed to control robots for dexterous physical tasks across different embodiments and environments. The company’s public research roadmap centers on model families it calls GEN-0, GEN-1, and GEN-1.5, with GEN-1.5 positioned as a system that can learn new physical skills from brief demonstrations using in-context prompting (“one-shot” learning) and can also adapt with a small number of gradient steps (“few-shot” adaptation).
