Harvard Law School (HLS) is the law school of Harvard University. It is the oldest continuously operating law school in the United States and is home to the largest academic law library in the world.
HLS provides legal education (including J.D., LL.M., and S.J.D. programs), clinical and experiential training, and a broad research ecosystem through faculty scholarship plus numerous research programs and centers that engage major areas of law, justice, governance, and public policy. Recent HLS programming and reporting emphasize (1) preparing students to navigate disagreement and governance through law, (2) advancing research and policy analysis across domains such as AI, labor, public health, corporate regulation, and civil procedure, and (3) expanding digital research infrastructure that supports access to legal knowledge (including projects connected to Perma.cc and the Harvard Caselaw Access Project).
