10 Downing Street is the UK Prime Minister’s executive office and residence. On the GOV.UK organisation page, it is described as the place where the Prime Minister’s Office helps the Prime Minister establish and deliver the government’s overall strategy and policy priorities, and communicate government policies to Parliament, the public, and international audiences.
The office therefore functions as a central coordination and direction-setting hub for the UK executive, with Prime Minister-led oversight of cross-government priorities and external communication.
