The Wilson Center (official name: Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars) is a congressionally chartered, nonpartisan policy research and convening institution headquartered in Washington, DC. The Center’s mission is to provide “nonpartisan counsel and insights on global affairs” to policymakers through deep research, impartial analysis, and independent scholarship, explicitly positioning itself as a bridge between the worlds of scholarship and public policy.
The Wilson Center’s work is delivered primarily through its Research Fellowship Program and through a portfolio of regional and thematic programs (for example, the Kennan Institute, Kennan’s Eurasia research; the Kissinger Institute on China; and multiple country and issue programs), which publish analysis and host events intended to inform discussion among Congress, the Administration, and the broader policy community.
