Concordia AI (安远AI; legal name shown on its site footer: 北京谋远咨询有限公司) is a China- and regionally oriented social enterprise focused on global AI safety and governance, with work spanning China, Singapore, and international cooperation. It describes its mission as steering AI development to capture benefits while mitigating risks, and it positions itself as an intermediary between Chinese AI safety expertise and global governance processes.
Operationally, Concordia AI runs (1) research intended to make China’s AI safety and governance landscape legible to international stakeholders and to inform global governance discussions, (2) convenings and community-building (fellowships, seminars, educational initiatives) and (3) policy and consulting engagement (including standards participation and briefs for policymakers and institutions). Its most distinctive program is its Frontier AI Risk Monitoring work, delivered through an independently run monitoring platform (airiskmonitor.net) that evaluates misuse and loss-of-control risks across frontier-model releases, and a searchable benchmark database intended to support transparency and repeatability across the ecosystem. Concordia AI also publishes an ongoing “AI Safety in China” newsletter and related China-focused materials through Chinese Perspectives on AI Safety and associated interactive/reporting assets. In the broader AI-governance field, Concordia AI appears in Track-2 and institutional collaborations and has been publicly involved in biological capability evaluation methodology coordination via AIxBio-related efforts with partners such as NTI (Nuclear Threat Initiative).
