Safe AI Forum (SAIF) is a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on international coordination to reduce extreme AI risks and ensure the benefits of AI are shared by all. SAIF’s flagship program is the International Dialogues on AI Safety (IDAIS), an events series that convenes leading scientists and AI governance experts across multiple jurisdictions to develop shared understanding of frontier AI risks and governance interventions.
Through IDAIS, SAIF produces consensus materials intended to be useful to policymakers, researchers, and other stakeholders. SAIF also publishes research and program materials that translate dialogue outputs into policy-facing guidance, including the IDAIS Policy Guide. In its organizational “updates,” SAIF describes a transition from fiscal sponsorship (with FAR.AI) to operating as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, marking May 2, 2025 as an organizational milestone.
