AI Policy Institute (AIPI) is an independent, donor-supported research and advocacy organization focused on advanced AI governance in the United States, combining (1) public opinion polling and (2) policy research to inform policymakers, journalists, researchers, and the broader AI safety community. AIPI’s stated mission is to advance public understanding of the trajectory, capabilities, and implications of the most powerful current and future AI systems, with an emphasis on how governance decisions can be grounded in evidence and public sentiment.
AIPI also publishes and distributes AI Policy Daily, a weekday email brief that curates day-to-day AI governance developments across Congress, the White House, agencies, frontier companies, and global context.
