LASR Labs (London AI Safety Research Labs) is a technical, in-person AI safety research training programme designed to help engineers and scientists transition into full-time AI safety careers. The programme is structured as a 13-week fellowship in London, where participants work in small supervised teams to take a technical AI safety project “from proposal to publication,” producing an academic-style paper and an accompanying blog post.
The programme is focused on action-relevant questions aimed at concrete advanced-AI threat models and explicitly targets “loss of control” risk. LASR Labs is supported by Arcadia Impact (a registered charity in England and Wales) and has also received support via a grant from Coefficient Giving.
