Partnership on AI (PAI) is an independent, nonprofit multi-stakeholder community (a consortium) that brings together industry, civil society, academia, and other partners to develop research, tools, and practical guidance aimed at making AI safer, more trustworthy, more inclusive, and aligned with public interests. PAI’s model is centered on cross-sector collaboration—using recurring partner meetings and steering committees to synthesize partner input into frameworks and recommendations that can be used by developers, deployers, policymakers, and investors.
Recent strategic emphasis includes (1) measurable progress in responsible AI through global initiatives and reporting, (2) governance infrastructure for foundation models and AI assurance, and (3) operational guidance for inclusive public engagement and safety practices.
