The Responsible AI Institute (RAI Institute) is a U.S.-based (Austin, Texas) nonprofit organization focused on making responsible AI governance practical and verifiable for organizations that develop, deploy, or buy AI systems. RAI Institute positions itself as a standards-aligned, independent “non-vendor” assurance and community platform, offering member-led governance frameworks, independent assessments/verification pathways, and digital badging intended to provide credible evidence for boards, regulators, customers, and other stakeholders.
Its current portfolio centers on TrustX (including TrustX Finance and TrustX Health) and the RAISE Pathways program, which together aim to move organizations from responsible-AI principles to operational controls and externally verifiable governance outcomes—especially for agentic and other higher-risk AI uses.
