The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is a UK government executive agency of the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) that exists to protect people from health threats. UKHSA prevents and reduces harm from infectious diseases, chemicals, radiation, health effects of climate change, and environmental hazards such as air quality.
It provides scientific and operational leadership across England (with some UK-wide responsibilities on reserved matters) and works with devolved governments and international partners on cross-border health security challenges.
